Every year 1.3 billion tons of food is thrown away. Wasted! The Story of Food Waste aims to change the way people buy, cook, recycle, and eat food. Through the eyes of chefs like Anthony Bourdain, Dan Barber, Massimo Bottura, and Danny Bowien, audiences will see how the world’s most influential chefs make the most of every kind of food, and create a more sustainable food system. Following the movie, special guestLeslie Lampert, proprietor of Ladle of Love and The Scrappy Chef, will share her favorite techniques for avoiding food waste. Leslie will help you learn how to transform the unspoiled food you trash into delicious, healthy meals and by eliminating food waste at home, you will end up saving time, money AND our planet. This event is free and open to the public.

Sponsors: New Castle Sustainability Advisory Board (SAB)/League of Women Voters® of New Castle/Greeley Environmental Club S.T.O.P./Friends of the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center
