Frankenstein : The Movie with Live Orchestra
$30.00 and upGrammy-nominated composer Michael Shapiro’s FRANKENSTEIN: THE MOVIE SCORE with live 15-piece orchestra, will be performed at ChappPAC on Saturday, March 22nd at 8:00PM, with doors opening at 7:30PM.
This classic film, starring Colin Clive and Boris Karloff (in his breakout role as the Monster), was directed by James Whale. When the film was originally produced, a full film score was not added although that was not typical of films produced at that time.
In 2002, Michael Shapiro composed an orchestral film score for the classic film Frankenstein. It premiered in Westchester and has not been seen here since then. It has been performed worldwide over 65 times from St. Petersburg, Russia, Milan, Italy, Bergen, Norway, Trier, Germany, Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester, UK, to performances around the U.S. and Canada.
This Chappaqua performance, under the direction of composer Michael Shapiro, will be the first time the score has been played in Westchester in over 10 years. There will be a 15-piece orchestra at this performance to play the film’s score LIVE.
