SUMMARY:Tim Kubart and the Space Cadets
DESCRIPTION:Tim Kubart’s concerts are an indie pop dance party for all ages. Joined on stage by his \nband\, the “Space Cadets” (and a tap-dancing sidekick!)\, Tim performs songs \ncelebrating real life kid and family moments and milestones. No matter the venue\, a Tim \nKubart and the Space Cadets show is highly interactive\, musically rich\, and always \nspeaks to kids at the top of their intelligence. \n  \nTim Kubart discovered his passion for making music for kids and families while \nvolunteering in the nursery of an NYC homeless shelter during college. After \ndiscovering his vocation\, Tim strapped his guitar on his back\, and sang everywhere and \nanywhere\, performing over 5\,000 preschool music classes\, 900 birthday parties\, and \neventually full scale productions on national stages and theatres\, leading him to be \nnamed “the kindie scene’s breakout star” by New York Family. \n  \nAlong the way\, he picked up a Grammy Award for Best Children’s Album (Home\, 2015) \nand became an on-camera host of the Emmy-nominated morning show for preschoolers \n“Sunny Side Up” on NBCUniversal’s Sprout Channel. Tim sings songs\, performs \nsketches\, and shares mornings with a national audience of kids and their caregivers \neach day\, alongside his co-host Chica the Chicken. Tim made his Sprout debut \nperforming on a float at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Broadcasting from 30 \nRock\, the show is also a destination for special guests\, favorite visitors include Julie \nAndrews\, William Shatner\, Astronaut Chris Hadfield\, and Michelle Obama. \n  \nHe has played at-capacity shows at the Music Hall of Williamsburg\, Brooklyn Bowl\, \nLincoln Center\, Symphony Space\, The Kennedy Center\, Chicago’s Old Town School of \nFolk\, and the Smithsonian. He’s headlined the family stages at Lollapalooza and Austin \nCity Limits. Tim’s pop songs for families have reached the top of the XM Kids Place Live \ncharts numerous times. \n  \nTim also composes songs for Sesame Street\, is completing his first picture book \n“Oopsie-Do” to be published with HarperCollins\, is working on an off-Broadway show \nwith Times Square’s New Victory Theatre\, and moonlights as the “Tambourine Guy” \nfrom the viral music collective and internationally touring group Postmodern Jukebox. \nTim lives and rides his bike in Brooklyn\, NY. He loves animals\, and continues to \nvolunteer his time singing songs to kids who need music most.

DESCRIPTION:Join Tony Award winner Lindsay Mendez (Carousel\, Wicked\, Godspell\, Grease) and Broadway star Derek Klena (Anastasia\, Wicked\, Bridges of Madison County) to learn about musical theater technique and audition preparation. These two veterans of Broadway will provide insightful instruction in a fun and encouraging environment. The session culminates with the students performing on stage for parents and friends and a Q&A session with the actors about their experience to educate and inspire the next generation of performers and theater lovers.
